Now Accepting Applications for Certified Elementary Teacher and High School Math Teacher!

If you are called to instill a Biblical worldview in students, celebrate freedom in Christ, a love of life-long learning, and desire to be a spiritual mentor in a family atmosphere, we would love to see you at Cornerstone Christian Academy. We are now accepting applications for a certified Elementary Teacher and High School Math Teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. Applications can be found below. We realize that the key to a successful Christian School is its staff. We seek applicants who are professionally qualified, love children, and are Christian role models by the pattern of their lives. (Luke 6:40). As you consider our school, you need to be aware that salaries are not competitive with public schools or other private, non-Christian schools. Salaries will typically start at $18,000 for new teachers to our school with a bachelor’s degree.

*Note: If you are interested in a teaching position at CCA, we encourage you to complete our teacher application and questionnaire even if there is not currently a position posted. Sometimes places open and need to be filled quickly without much time for advertising. During such times will pull from the applications on file and contact you to see if you are still interested and if you would like to schedule an interview. Also note, that standard resumes will be accepted, but we also request that you complete our application form, which includes questions specifically about teaching in a Christian School. The answers to these questions are imperative to our Board of Directors and will be discussed during your interview.

Please note there is a $46 Background Check and Fingerprint Fee should you be hired by CCA.

Important Bylaws

6.01 All teachers shall be appointed by the Board of Directors after giving careful consideration to their Christian doctrine and life, their Christian training and professional attainments, and other qualifications necessary for the proper performance of the duties assigned to them. The teachers shall be appointed to serve under a written contract that specifies the salary to be received and services to be rendered. It shall be the goal of Cornerstone Christian Academy to fill all permanent teaching positions with teachers who hold a teaching degree and a teaching certificate issued by the state superintendent of education.

6.02 All members of the teaching staff must be members in good standing of an evangelical church (a church that teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only way to Salvation). An application for a teaching position must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation signed by the applicant's pastor and the governing board from the church where the prospective teacher is a member.

6.03 In writing, all teachers must declare at the beginning of each school year their unconditional acceptance of our

Statement of Faith.

Pay & Benefits

Starting Pay $18,000/year
CCA pays 50% of single coverage premium for BC/BS Health Insurance
CCA pays $50/month into an annuity with MetLife for a retirement fund on your behalf. Teachers can opt to add additional funds to their annuity account.
Teachers build 1 sick day for each month worked at CCA.
School Calendar includes 180 days per year.
Teachers must hold an AL State Certificate.
At the end of a teacher's first two years of teaching at CCA, that teacher must hold an AACS Christian School Certificate.
**A newly hired teacher has 2 years to complete the four AACS Classes online and class fees will be paid by CCA. A pay increase will be awarded after the completion of each of these 4 classes. This requirement can be met by taking one online class per semester during your first two years on staff at CCA.
A teacher with school-age children of whom you have full custody will receive a full scholarship for 2 of those children to attend CCA.
